The Dark Tunnel

The Dark Tunnel

“This is it
I believe it’s my destiny
Everything stills
Blurry sights

Just a way out of this
I need to get an explanation
All I see is dusk
I can’t explain

Get me dawn!”

How can one walk or work in the dark without a light? This scenario brings out the worst in us, makes us feel handicapped and unhappy. At same time, it prepares us for the life ahead.img_2961
In your dark moment, you seek for ways to get the situation erased, burden off-loaded and for a better life. In this all, life isn’t a bed of roses. There are ups and downs. In that your “downs”, it might seem all hope is lost, but still hold on to your instinct of ‘there’s always a way out.’ Just like Corrie Ten Boom puts it, “When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer.” So stay put and trust that there would be light at the end of your journey!

“Often my creative life has seemed like a long tunnel, dark and damp. And sometimes I wondered whether I could live through it. But I did!”_Ai Jingimg_2960

Not everyone who’s on top today got there with success after success. More often than not, those who history best remembers were faced with numerous obstacles that forced them to work harder and show more determination than others. When you are in that dark side of life, remind yourself that it’s just a step towards your light. Look at the life of Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Henry Ford, Aliko Dangote, Steve Jobs and other successful people in the world; they all passed through that dark scene. Failure is but a stepping stone towards success.

“No matter how dark the tunnel is, no matter how long you have to walk alone inside, remember the reason why you have started your journey and most of all have faith that at the end of the tunnel, a beautiful city with brightest sun is waiting for you.”_Nishan Panwar

You know what?, just be patient! Keep your head up. Keep fighting. Your strugglesimg_2963 only make you better in the end. Did you just say that you are not sure of the light at the end of that tunnel you are in? Listen to this by Martin Luther King Jr. “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Yes, if you feel that’s not encouraging enough, then “don’t wait for a light to appear at the end of the tunnel, stride down there and light the bloody thing yourself”_ Sarah Henderson

Have you forgotten that in order for the light to shine so bright, darkness must be present? Harrison Ford puts it this way, “You have to have a darkness for the dawn to come.” In all these sayings, don’t forget that if you are not lighting any candles, don’t complain about being in the dark. Are you confused with the saying? Get understanding that in your dark tunnel you may not always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you keep moving, you will surely come to a better place.

Remember this:
Light rarely comes to those who merely sit in darkness, waiting for someone to flip a switch. Don’t wake up with the regret of what you couldn’t accomplish yesterday. There’s light ahead!
The light at the end of the tunnel is not an illusion. The tunnel is…
Don’t give up because, nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. That tunnel is just a temporary stage and the light at the end is your life!

“At last there’s light at the end of the tunnel”_Joseph Alsop
